Nursing Schools in North Carolina (NC)
North Carolina (NC) offers a wide range of educational opportunities for anyone pursuing a nursing program. It is also an attractive state for nursing students of all ages, and boasts exciting communities to explore, a diverse culture, and dozens of activities to enjoy year-round.
North Carolina supports the Compact agreement for registered nurses, and reports steadily increasing enrollment numbers for its nursing programs. 7,612 new students entered North Carolina nursing programs in the 2004-2005 academic year, an increase of just over 14% in the previous two years. This growth has created more options in accelerated baccalaureate and entry-level Master’s nursing programs, making it easier than ever to complete and receive a quality nursing education.
Students enrolled in a nursing program may choose to complete a two-year Associate’s nursing program or a four-year BSN nursing program. Offerings vary by school, and those with previous bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing field may choose an accelerated nursing program to earn their BSN in a shorter period of time.
