Nursing Schools in Virginia (VA)

Written by NS StaffJuly 21, 2011

Technically a commonwealth, not a state, Virginia is for lovers and historians. Home to President Washington, Jefferson, Monroe, and others, Virginia played a pivotal role in the creation of the US. According to the US Navy, the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Virginia, is one of the largest shipyards in the world specializing in repairing, overhauling, and modernizing ships and submarines. Virginia has agreed to join the Compact, but has not implemented it yet. Once implemented, nurses from other Compact states will be able to work in Virginia without further licenses.
